Who We Are >> Kelli House, M.A.

Kelli Gainer House completed her undergraduate degree from Shepherd University. Working in the private sector, she worked with state and government agencies developing compliance procedures for companies to implement. The transition to special education seemed a natural one; working specifically in secondary education. Mrs. House has worked with students in all school environments and across the continuum of services. She is a cadre member for the West Virginia Department of Education in the Responsible Students through School-Wide Positive Behavior Support program and is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children. In her capacity as IEP Coordinator, she implemented co-teaching in her middle school and, using data, identified and provided professional development support for teachers. As a member of the School Leadership Team she has presented at various school, county and state-level conferences on data-based school improvement projects and various other special education topics, to include co-teaching practices. She was also instrumental in piloting the Co-Teach Solutions System (CTSS). Currently, Mrs. House is a Coordinator of Special Education for Berkeley County Schools in West Virginia. Her areas of expertise for training are Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Differentiated Instruction (DI), and Co-Teaching.
